The LSU Tigers are kings of college football. Matt Flynn fired four touchdown passes as LSU defeated Ohio State 38-24 in the BCS National Championship Game at the Superdome. The Tigers rallied from a 10-0 first-quarter deficit with 31 consecutive points to take control of the game. LSU finished the season 12-and-2 and is the first school to win two BCS titles. It was the Tigers’ third national championship overall. The Buckeyes got a 65-yard touchdown run from Chris Wells on their first possession, but fell behind 24-10 at the half. Brian Robiskie hauled in a five-yard TD catch late in the third quarter to get OSU within 31-17, but Todd Boeckman lost a fumble after a sack and also threw an interception as the Tigers held on. Richard Dickson’s second TD catch late in the fourth quarter sealed the win for LSU. Wells had 20 carries for 146 yards for the Buckeyes, who fell to 0-and-9 all-time against the SEC in bowls. OSU suffered five sacks, two picks, a lost fumble and a blocked field goal to finish 11-and-2.
