Six-weeks after their historic meeting at Arrowhead, the long-simmering KU-MU border war continues. Now that the season is a wrap, who’s ranked higher? A look at the “USA Today” Top-25 Coaches’ Poll shows Mizzou — the 12-and-2 Cotton Bowl winner — in 5th-place, up from 7th. The 12-and-1 Orange Bowl-winning Jayhawks take over the number-seven position. Rounding-out the top-ten, at number-one — with 60 first-place votes — is LSU. Southern California is second, followed by Georgia and Ohio State. Following the Tigers, it’s West Virginia at number-six. Then, trailing KU, it’s Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, and Texas.
