Hamilton Resigns After DUI, Hit-And-Run Arrest

Joe Hamilton is resigning his position with Georgia Tech following his arrest on charges of drunk driving, hit-and-run, marijuana possession and open container.  Tech football coach Paul Johnson says he sadly accepted Joe’s resignation, offering any support he could to the 1999 Heisman Trophy runner-up and ex-team quarterback.  Hamilton was pulled over shortly after midnight by a Georgia Tech police officer where officers reported they smelled alcohol on his breath.  Police say Hamilton then admitted to hitting another vehicle from behind, then failed a series of sobriety tests.  Hamilton joined the Tech football staff to assist with recruiting and help the players.
