The Rutgers Scarlet Knights landed another top recruit on Monday, receiving a verbal commitment from New Jersey prep star Gerald Hodges.
Hodges, a 6-3 200-pound safety/linebacker, has 4.5 speed and had 65 tackles and 7 interceptions last season as a junior at Paulsboro High School in Paulsboro, New Jersey.
A four-star recruit, Hodges is rated the third best weakside linebacker prospect in the 2009 recruiting class by Scout.com. He chose Rutgers over Penn State, Maryland, West Virginia, and Syracuse among others.
