The Maryland Terrapins have landed a top prospect for their 2009 recruiting class, receiving a verbal commitment from in-state prep star Caleb Porzel.
A 5-9, 185-pound running back with 4.3 speed, Porzel is considered one of the top 25 running backs in the 2009 recruiting class. He rushed for 967 yards and 16 touchdowns last season as a junior at Good Counsel High School in Wheaton, Maryland.
Porzel chose Maryland over West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Virginia Tech among others.
