Florida coach Urban Meyer has told the Florida Sports Writers Association that Gators’ star Percy Harvin is “ahead of schedule” in his recovery from offseason heel surgery.
“We are being very cautious with him, but he’s progressing well and should be ready for the start of Fall practice,” Meyer told the FSWA today at the group’s annual College Football Media Day event in Tampa.
Harvin has a history of heel problems dating back to his high school playing career in Virginia Beach, Virginia but the dual-threat star still ran for 764 yards and six touchdowns last season, while also catching 59 passes for 858 yards and four touchdowns.
