Alabama Loses Top Recruit To MLB’s Nationals

Hood

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost one of their top 2008 recruits to Major League Baseball on Friday when Destin Hood, a two-sport star at St. Paul’s Episcopal High School in Mobile, Alabama and a second round draft pick in June’s Major League Baseball Player Draft, signed with the Washington Nationals.

Hood had signed a letter-of-intent to play for Alabama in February.

A speedy wide receiver and defensive back, Hood caught 56 passes for 995 yards and 15 touchdowns as a high school senior.
