Football Fiesta Night Set for Cal Poly Game

Football Fiesta Night is back at Bulldog Stadium for a second consecutive year. The event will take place when Fresno State hosts Cal Poly on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. Football Fiesta tickets will be available for $12 and last year the event was a great success as over 2,000 tickets were sold.

Once again the event will showcase the strong Hispanic culture and heritage in the Valley. It is expected to be one the largest Hispanic cultural events on the Fresno State campus.

The event also helps coach Pat Hill accomplish one of his goals in reaching out to the Hispanic community in the Valley by painting the Valley red.

“We want to reach out and touch many different communities during the course of our athletic seasons,” Fresno State Associate Athletics Director Paul Ladwig said. “Football Fiesta is one event that we want to grow and embrace. Coach Hill has wanted this to happen and with our tremendous partners this Fiesta will be continue to get bigger and better.”

During the game, video messages and public address promotional announcements will be in both English and Spanish. The Fresno State band will also perform a tribute at halftime.

Fresno State Athletics is partnering with Univision, the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fresno State Chicano Alumni Chapter and Lotus Communications the home for ESPN Deportes and La Buena.

“The Valley and its growth owe a lot to the Hispanic people who have made it their home,” said Hill. “We are proud to bring attention to the many accomplishments of the great leaders of the Hispanic community. We are grateful to our many Hispanic fans and look forward to a great game and an even better celebration on Oct. 2.”
