Purdue QB Granted 6th Year Of Eligibility

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and will play for the Boilermakers in 2012, according to Dean Pantazi of Indiana’s NewsCenter.

He is the third Boilermaker to be granted an additional season in the last four years, following defensive back Torri Williams in 2009 and linebacker Jason Werner in 2010.

Marve is coming off a 2011 season that saw him complete 61 of 109 passing attempts for 633 yards and four touchdowns. His efforts against Ohio State, including scoring the game-winning touchdown from one-yard out in overtime, helped the Boilermakers knock off the Buckeyes in consecutive visits to Ross-Ade Stadium for the first time in school history.
